  • Archie - Year 8 (2025/26)

    Published 08/06/21

When I was in Year 7, I went to watch Grease at The Link Academy. I enjoyed it so much that I auditioned for the next school show and was really excited to get the role of the Tin Man in The Wiz. Being on stage helped me realise how much I love performing and made me want to do more.

After this, I joined Theatre Train, a performing arts group, and I am now lucky enough to have a lead role in their production of School of Rock, which will be performed at the Old Rep Theatre this autumn. My dream is to one day perform in a West End show. To help build my confidence, I recently performed at an open mic event at The Waterfront, where I sang a song from my favourite musical, Dear Evan Hansen.

My advice to Year 6 learners would be to have goals and work hard to achieve them. The Link Academy has given me lots of opportunities to follow my interests and has always encouraged me to believe in myself and aim high.
