SEND
The Link Academy believes in every child reaching his/her potential, through full access to a broad and balanced curriculum and we recognise that some pupils will need extra support to do this. We have a dedicated team of trained staff who are always on hand to provide that reassurance to our learners, as well as to step in if anything is affecting their wellbeing – either at school or outside of school. The Link Academy offers a range of flexible provision to respond to children’s’ individual needs including in-class support, small group or individual teaching. Our Learning Support Team is headed by our SENCO, Miss A Thacker.
Parents/carers can find the Local Authority 'Local Offer' from the Dudley Council website.
Additional support for parents/carers is available from SENDIASS, which is an organisation external to the school.
Our SEND policy and report may be found here
Our SEN Co-ordinator is Miss Thacker, who can be contacted via the main Reception Number 01384 986 550 or E-Mail [email protected]
Dudley MBC - SEN Graduated Response Video
A brand new video entitled the SEN Graduated Response, has been produced by Dudley Council and the Dudley Parent Carer Forum to walk parent carers and young people through how Dudley identifies children with additional needs and provides them with extra support.
Narrated by children and parents, the video starts with defining what special educational needs means and how children and young people should be supported according to the Department for Education’s Code of Practice.
It highlights the support children and young people can receive within mainstream schools and how this is reviewed. It also talks about the Education, Health and Care Plan process.
We would like to thank all involved at the Dudley Parent Carer Forum in making this video.
