Following the announcement from Buckingham Palace of the death of our sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a period of National Mourning has started and will continue until the end of the State Funeral. This is a period for reflection in response to the death of the Sovereign.
Today marks a landmark occasion as GCSE and vocational qualifications are awarded, based on formal examinations for the first time since 2019. Today also marks a landmark occasion for Dudley Academies Trust which is celebrating record results.

Chloe Hart from The Link Academy and Ethan McDonald from St James Academy, which are part of Dudley Academies Trust, are heading to London to take part in the national finals of Poetry By Heart, a competition entered by hundreds of schools across the nation.
Year 10 learners will be sitting their GCSE examinations during Summer 2023. In preparation for these exams there will be three occasions where PPE examinations will take place during school time. The first of these begins in June 2022. This will allow learners to gain valuable experience sitting examinations under formal conditions and will also inform us about how learners are progressing in each of their subjects.
As the end of the school year is fast upon us and the weather is warming up, our learners may be in and around water. Young people need to understand the risks of different bodies of water and how to keep themselves safe. The attached posters and resources give advice to learners, parents and carers on how to stay safe this summer.
