Brief overview of KS4 curriculum

We offer two pathways for GSCE level qualifications in Physical Education, GCSE PE and Cambridge National Sport Studies. Both courses offer practical assessment which can be tailored to suit the individual. This is designed to embed the physical development and skills learned in key stage 3, encouraging learners to become more competent, confident and expert in their techniques, and apply them across different sporting activities. Learners explore a range of theoretical content and learn how to apply them to a sporting context, such as:

  • Anatomy & physiology
  • Movement analysis
  • Sports psychology
  • Physical training
  • Influences of the media
  • Sports leadership
  • Contemporary issues in sport
