Tragic Loss of Blake Ward
Update Regarding Funeral of Blake Ward
We have been asked to inform people that on Thursday 23 August the funeral procession for Blake Ward will pause outside the school (Simms Lane) on the way to the Crematorium at approximately 14:20pm. The family welcome anyone from the school and community who is not able to attend the funeral and wishes to pay their respects to be present there. There is also the option of placing a single flower on the hearse.
Hillcrest School have been deeply saddened to learn of the tragic death of our student Blake Ward.
Blake was a wonderful young man, his teachers would say of him that he was bright, funny and kind hearted. It is such a tragedy when a young life is taken especially in these circumstances. Our thoughts are with Blake's family and the school will do all it can to support them and our students.
For those people who have left flowers and tributes at the school gate, we would like to inform you that when these are collected by school, all messages will be kept safe. A book of condolences will be available for Year 11 pupils to write in on their results days and for the remainder of the school in September. Copies of these will then be passed on to Blake’s family and those closest to him.
For anyone who is not aware, there is a fundraising page in honour of Blake that anyone can make a donation to:
